Engineering Academy
It's the latest and greatest new area of educational FUN from the University of Wisconsin in collaboration with MSOE (Milwaukee School of Engineering)! Join us to explore HANDS-ON engineering madness for four great days!

Date: July 6-9, 2009
Location: UW-Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac, WI

Your instructors will be MSOE students. Learn not only from the projects you design, but also find out all that you can about your instructors including what type of courses they took in high school, why they decided to pursue engineering and why they decided to pursue their particular field of engineering!

Earth Partnership for Schools (EPS) Institute

Date: July 6-10, 2009
Location: Stevens Point, WI

Teams of 2-4 teachers per school will spend a week learning how to use ecological restoration as a teaching tool. Two-credit scholarships for all participants available from UW-Stevens Point.

GIRLZ GO!!! to the Kohler Company

Ever wondered how your bathtub or faucet was made. Kohler's "Industry in Action" factory tour takes you through the numerous buildings - Pottery, Brass Building and Foundry - that create everything from vitreous china lavatories to massive 6-foot cast iron tubs.

Following the factory tour we will enjoy a sumptuous boxed lunch, then tour the Kohler Design Center, a three-level showcase of innovative product design and technology, creative achievement, and American history. A fusion of old and new, the space offers a comprehensive representation of Kohler Co.'s state-of-the-art products and stunning examples of the company's contributions to gracious living and interior design.

Carbon Cycle & Climate Modeling Teacher Workshop

Date: July 14-16, 2009
Location: Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Science Building, University of Wisconsin-Madison campus

This workshop will provide an overview of climate mechanisms and climate change by focusing on the carbon cycle. Expert presentations, group discussions, and interactive computer training, including classroom applications of the EdGCM (Educational Global Climate Model) with be central activities.

Biotechnology: The Basics

Learning and the Brain
